The Grange (2016) Ltd are a provider of accommodation and support services to adults with learning disabilities. We support up to 25 people across 3 locations to live enriched, fulfilled and happy lives.


Description of Vacancy
Never ‘just’ an administrator. All the roles within our organisation play a vital part in enhancing the lives of the people we support.

You will be based at The Grange in Benenden where up to 19 people live. You will work in the office supporting the business administration. This is a new role and an opportunity to make it your own with the potential to become a permanent team member for the right candidate.

You will learn about business administration but also about social care providing you with broad transferable skill set for the future.

You will support us to maintain existing systems whilst using your own creativity and skills to create new ones to enable us to be more proactive.

As the first point of contact for visitors and enquiries, you will give the first impression of the services that we provide, professional but most of all reflective of the people we support – wonderful!

Tasks will include:

To be able to communicate with the people we support in a polite and supportive manner.

To deal effectively with incoming calls, correspondence and visitors to the service.

Support the recruitment process in line with CQC requirements.

Provide support in relation to Human Resources, for example monitoring renewals of DBS checks, sending letters, monitoring training requirements and liaising with service managers.

Update training records and book training courses as required.

To maintain filing systems, hard copies and electronic and introduce new systems that support the smooth running of the business.

Support the smooth running of the office which may include ordering of stock, archiving production of minutes and correspondence.


Wage
A staggered salary increment based on completion of qualification.

Wages are paid on the 24th of each month for the full month (e.g. April pay will be made on 24th April covering the 1st – 30th of the month)

Starting rate £6.15 – £184.50 p/w

After 6 months £6.60 – £198 p/w

After 12 months £7.40 or NMW for age band – £222 p/w

On completion £8.25 – £247.50 p/w


Hours
Working 30 hours per week Monday – Friday, we are flexible as to how this will work over 4 – 5 days per week but request that Friday forms part of the normal working week.


Skills Required
Due to the location of the service the post holder will be required to be a driver with use of vehicle.
Confident in the use of Microsoft office packages
IT confident in order to have training to use various software systems

Qualifications Required
A* – D GCSE Maths
Experience or qualifications in Microsoft Office Packages


Training Provided
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
 

Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.


Important Information
