DESCRIPTION OF VACANCY
Kasper Fostering is an independent fostering agency with a long history of success at changing the lives of children and young people.

Our Head Office in Whitstable is a busy but warm and welcoming working environment, and we are now looking for an apprentice to come in and provide us with some administrative support.

As the Fostering Placements & Business Support apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the service.  This will include processing referrals and keeping databases well-maintained and accurate, as well as helping to coordinate events for our service users.

There will be a number of wide-ranging training and development opportunities available to you and a real scope for the role to evolve with experience.

This is a busy and varied role with scope for it to evolve with experience.  Tasks will include – but are not limited to – the following:

– Dealing with general enquiries via telephone and e-mail

– Greeting visitors

-Processing the administrative elements of incoming referrals / placements

– Various data entry tasks

– Ensuring all databases are kept up to date and that information is accurate

– Maintaining confidentiality and managing data securely

– Placing and receiving orders for catering supplies for meetings and events

– Providing administrative support in the set-up of fun and engaging events for service users

HOURS
37 working hours per week:

Monday – Thursday: 9am – 5pm
Friday: 9am – 4.30pm

Includes a half hour (unpaid) lunchbreak each day.

SKILLS REQUIRED
The successful applicant should be confident in communicating with people of all ages, and be well presented.

We are also looking for a candidate with good ICT skills.

PERSONAL QUALITIES
We are looking for a trustworthy candidate with a  warm and welcoming approach, and real ‘can-do’ attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Maths – GCSE Grade C / 4 minimum
English – GCSE Grade C / 4 minimum

Due to the nature of the role, we can only accept applications from those aged 18+.

Offer of the apprenticeship will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

TRAINING PROVIDED
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
