Your role will be to support web development projects, beginning with the initial client briefing meeting, through drawing up detailed web specifications and project plans, designing high quality page layouts, coding using a variety of software/languages, through to testing and delivering final live sites.

With support from the Creative Director and the web/creative team, you will be involved in every stage - pitching, designing and developing, managing external resources and supporting and maintaining client sites. It will be your responsibility to manage your workload and ensure that all members of the team are aware of your workload and when you will complete specific tasks.

Finally, it is Digital Glue's aim to provide an environment where people can flourish and develop.

Duties & responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the design, production, modification, maintenance and management of websites and web related applications
  • To be a member of an established creative team and, working closely with the creative director and other team members within the creative team to create and then turn website concepts into working websites
  • Working within the creative team in designing website's visual imagery and ensuring it's in line the requirements of the client
  • Supporting presentation of web design and development ideas to clients
  • Maintaining a high standard of coding practise within projects and following best practice development workflows
  • Assist in preparing and pitching for new business
  • Identify client requirements, project costs and project cost analysis
  • Design and layout for all digital platforms including websites, apps & amp andemail
  • Editing content, debugging code and re-designing web pages
  • Managing and updating client websites with content, specifically utilising the WordPress platform
  • Creative ideas with problem solving mind-set
  • Develop websites using HTML, CSS & jQuery
  • Project profitability through weekly time sheet analysis
  • Attend networking events to build business contacts


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Understanding of design and the ability to apply it in web development, branding, digital design and print design.
  • Knowledge of frontend design & development
  • Programming skills in HTML/CSS/jQuery
  • Awareness of CSS Pre-Processors such as SASS or LESS/CSS
  • Knowledge of using and developing for WordPress
  • Demonstrable knowledge of designing for a responsive web
  • Attention to detail along with good time and project management skills


Personal qualities

  • A desire to learn and get better
  • Typography, layout, brand and visual identity skills
  • Creative software skills including Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Have the ability to pick a great photo out of hundreds
  • Aware of international web standards and protocols
  • Adaptable and able to pick up new techniques
  • A sense of humour


Desired qualifications

  • You will be educated to GCSE level with grades between A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent qualifications) including English and maths
  • An IT qualification would be desirable
