You will be working alongside the Information Security Technician and Infrastructure Administrator, reporting directly to the IT Manager. You will be given ample opportunity to apply your learning to real commercial situations and will be fully supported in your studies.

Your Responsibilities will include:
  • Working alongside the Information Security Technician to help with day to day Information Security tasks and OnDmarc domain enrolment - learning the ropes in regard to the ISO27001 management system and Cyber Essentials accreditation.
  • Assist with OnDMARC Configuration and Domain Security
  • Working alongside the Systems and Infrastructure Administrator to ensure IT platforms (including telephony) operate sufficiently to allow business activity to work as efficiently as possible.
  • Perform administrative and maintenance tasks on internal systems and platforms.
  • Understand and Maintain IT logs such as security incident, Support etc.
  • Provide effective user and license management to deliver value for the business.

Personal qualities

Experience of Windows and Linux OS
  • Basic knowledge and awareness of network and cyber security
  • Must be able to demonstrate an exceptional focus within the security arena
  • Familiarity with office 365
  • Solid Infrastructure knowledge and hand on experience of Linux and Windows derivatives and common hypervisor platforms.
  • A good understanding of database architectures (Oracle and SQL Server) is an advantage
  • Intermediate programming knowledge is an advantage

Desired qualifications

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths)

Future prospects

The role offers long term security and the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.
