Job Purpose
  • Search and acquire new office space to support Making Moves clients in finding the appropriate office that suits their needs
  • Provide responsible advice to the clients regarding the London office market

Surveying Activities: 60%
  • Representing Making Moves and its unique product
  • Searching and acquiring new office space in Central London using personal contacts, connections, networking events and the internet (news stories, LinkedIn etc.)
  • Building and cultivating relationships with landlords and their agents by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications
  • Building and maintaining up to date information about the available office space
  • Coordinating with the Client Generators team to make the most of the available opportunities

Client Service Activities: 30%
  • Taking responsibility for the client's office move
  • Providing the clients with the right consultancy advice throughout the search process
  • Arranging and accompanying the clients on all viewing tours
  • Negotiating to get the best deal for the client and save them as much money as possible
  • Attending client pitches and providing further details when needed

Supporting the Marketing Activities: 10%
  • Coordinating with the Marketing Team to advertise available office space for our clients
  • Using personal social media accounts to promote Making Moves

Desired qualifications

  • A-Level BBB or
  • BTEC National Diploma DDM or
  • Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions 21 Merits or
  • Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions 21 Merits or
  • Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 128 UCAS points

In additional, applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Math's and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).

Advanced entry:

For those holding a Level 4 qualification with specific grades may be possible to enter onto Level 5 of the course and 'top up' your existing qualification to a full degree:
  • BTEC HNC/HND in a Building Surveying/Building related subject
  • Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Building Surveying/Building related subject
  • Construction Surveying Technician Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship or
  • Cognate Level 4 qualification in Construction and Built Environment


Future prospects

  • The role is varied and challenging but, in the nature of a small team, the apprentice must expect an element of menial tasks and "mucking-in" when necessary
  • Regular travel to existing and prospective properties will be required, often at short notice
  • Working hours outside your normal contracted hours from time to time
  • Away from the desk on some days (viewing tours, client meets)
  • Expectations to meet financial targets (quarterly and yearly)
