Vacancy Description

Working across the diverse county of Cambridgeshire, you will join a friendly and busy team which is expanding and rising to the challenge of delivering an ambitious and wide ranging growth agenda.

County planning deals with development management (planning applications) in a rapidly growing area, with major new development planned, including new settlements.

The team deals with planning applications made by the County Council for its own development, which includes proposals for new infrastructure such as new schools. You may also be dealing with planning applications for mineral and waste management development (training will be given).

You will be enthusiastic, preferably with a planning related degree, and ideally with some experience already in development management. You should have a strong work ethic, and ready to start on the journey to acquire your planning master's degree.

You will have good organisational, time management skills, and an eye for detail. Your caseload of planning applications will include mineral and waste management planning applications, and you will provide professional and technical support and capacity to principal officers and managers within the Environment and Commercial Service.

You will also provide assistance with monitoring and regulation of minerals and waste proposals which contribute towards the growth and economy of the County.

Come and join us, and help to deliver the growth agenda across the county.
