To provide a full administrative support service to the department whilst being involved in projects that will be both interesting, insightful and a key contribution towards the overall success of the organisation and which have relevance in the world today. Surveying is a highly recognised profession with international recognition that can enable the job holder to broaden their horizons and open doors.

The role is part of the Authority's succession planning programme and will be working towards becoming a junior professional within the Property team.

The role requires the incumbent to successfully become enrolled on a Degree Apprenticeship, with a view to becoming a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). You will be provided a day's release during the academic calendar as part of your study. As an apprentice, focussing on delivery within the Authority's Property Team and developing over a five year structured training program.

Responsibilities, Specific:
  • Collect, scan and distribute Property post daily
  • Answer telephones and take messages for the team and Principal Property Manager
  • Produce standard correspondence that supports daily public enquiries
  • To arrange meetings on behalf of the Principal Property Manager as required including the Property Departmental meeting and distribute the agenda as instructed
  • To assist in recording and processing invoices on InBye in a timely manner
  • To upload hard copy and electronic files to Wisdom, adhering to the correct filing structure requirements and Coal Authority procedures on information security
  • To review documentation saved to Wisdom on an incremental basis
  • To provide admin cover during periods of absence/holidays with colleagues
  • To seek opportunities for improved efficiencies in working practices discussing any suggestions with line manager
  • You will assist with ensuring that all deeds are returned to storage in the correct manner
  • To support the Property Support Officer in recording and maintaining the team's project tracker

Future prospects

The position is a permanent position and the incumbent would be expected to become a fully qualified Assistant Property Manager or Property Manager.
