Duties to include:
  • Ensuring there are sufficient stock of electronics and mechanical components, liaise with suppliers and complete orders
  • Review design drawings, perform fault finding and repair on circuit boards
  • Work with mechanical and electronics CAD systems
  • Learn basic CNC machining steps and transfer drawings to machining files
  • Learn and perform software installation and verification on various product lines
  • Understand embedded system design, involving micro controllers, switching regulators, GHz communication networks and power electronics
  • Participatein designing software for embedded micro controllers
  • Participate in multilayer PCB design
  • Participate in high speed PCB design
  • Participate in FPGA based design
  • Participate in imaging sensor design
  • Participate in designing computer carrier boards, including display port, PCIe, USB3 and Gigabit Ethernet


Requirements and prospects

  • General computer skills
  • Basic PCB circuit design
  • Basic programming
  • Exposure to CAD systems
  • Good verbal communication skills


Personal qualities

Capable of gathering and applying information independently.

Desired qualifications

Minimum of two A Levels or equivalent, at least one of these must be a science. Candidates with A levels or equivalent in physics and maths will be well suited to this role, or BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering.
