Responsibilities:
  • Ensure detailed project, implementation or actions plans are created for the duration of each project as appropriate
  • Ensure projects have requirements documented and agreed to ensure that project activity meets agreed project objectives
  • Use appropriate change control processes to manage customer needs as the project evolves and maintain effective budget and margin control
  • Ensure monitoring of progress against all projects is timely, accurate enabling sponsors and stakeholders to have visibility and sufficient information to make the required decisions
  • Coordinate quality inspection reviews
  • Ensure all documentation is in place to minimise issues associated with non-compliance and concessions
  • Generate status reports and update KPIs
  • Implement a regular cycle of project review governance meetings to meet the requirements of external customers at all levels
  • Produce agreed levels of project reporting on all projects being delivered or within the oversight of the PMO
  • Deliver an effective and timely schedule of project communications liaising with the relevant sponsors and stakeholders
  • Participate in pre-contract internal review process to ensure potential issues are raised early and mitigation actions put in place
  • Ensure risks, issues and dependencies are being recorded, monitored and proactively managed to minimise disruption to successful delivery
  • Manage project budgets and plans to deliver On Time In Full (OTIF) and to budget
  • Proactively manage actions and issues to ensure timely resolution and escalate issues to the relevant Senior Project Manager as required to minimise any adverse impact on the project schedule or cost
  • Maintain a close working relationship with key customer stakeholders to identify project requirements and critical delivery dates and plans
  • If required, represent the Company at external customer meetings and facilitate customer communications to resolve issues and develop shared plans and objectives
  • Demonstrate the highest ethical standards and exemplify the company values and behaviours

Candidates will report to the Senior Project Manager.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good all-round IT skills and particular knowledge of Microsoft Project would be an advantage

Desired qualifications

Ideally but not exclusively5 GCSE's (or equivalent) Grades A*-C/9-4 including maths, English and science.

Opportunities to achieve promotion within the projects department may arise from time to time.

Things to consider

The Apprenticeship Standard will be delivered by Skills Training UK on the company premises.

Successful applicants will be required to complete a full medical examination and DBS check.
