To assist the IT Manager in maintaining the IT department and facilities and ensuring all internal customers receive a high level of IT Support.To go out off site to other clients and help with Networking trouble and issues.

Essential Experience:

You will have previous knowledge of Networking and will be able to trouble shoot Network Server issues.

E.g. If a client's server were to go down, would you know how to support and resolve these issues?

You will be highly technically aware, and ideally have understanding in areas including:
  • Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems
  • Core Microsoft server roles (Exchange, IIS, AD, DNS, DHCP, SharePoint)
  • Provisioning and management of Office365 and Exchange Online.
  • System virtualisation
  • Backup technologies
  • Server hardware maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Hardware firewalls and router configuration
  • Switching
  • System and network monitoring
  • Endpoint protection technologies

Other desirable experience:
  • SQL databases
  • Apple Operating Systems and Hardware

Severn Business Solutions are an IT support organisation, Day to Day you will be:
  • Work with clients to understand details of faults
  • Resolving faults and explaining to the client the work you have carried out
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone
  • Fixing and maintaining equipment such as printers, laptops, PC's and tablets
  • Assisting with system upgrades and setting up new devices
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Identify the need for system and equipment updates
  • To co-ordinate and provide prioritised technical support and advice to clients
  • To assist in the design, implementation and configuration of IT systems at client sites
  • To ensure adequate arrangements are in place for the security of data, systems and hardware
  • To respond without delay to clients IT needs and issues
  • To successfully complete relevant college training and demonstrate a commitment to continuous development
  • To demonstrate a willingness to work flexibly sometimes outside of core hours, in response to service demands
  • To manage time effectively and achieve targets and deadlines
  • To maintain an awareness of new and innovative technologies
  • To perform such other tasks as may reasonably be required by the company Directors

Desired qualifications

  • Completed IT Level 3 - Apprenticeship Qualification or Similar Equivalent
