The role will join an existing team covering all aspects on the data and intelligence lifecycle with an emphasis on the quality and management of education/early help data. The role will incorporate:
  • Data collection and management
  • System and user support
  • Data security and quality
  • Developing IT solutions (i.e. Office 365)
  • Championing the use of new software
  • Data/Performance Analysis
  • School census and statutory returns
  • Change analysis/Project management support
  • Contract management support

The role will result in a Data Analyst - Higher Apprenticeship qualification (Level 4) studied with Exeter College

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience with use of Microsoft Excel including writing formulas to collate data
  • Experience and ability to use databases
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word
  • Ability to convert data into useful information
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to describe IT functions by telephone
  • Calm disposition when providing support

Desired qualifications

The role requires GCSEs grade C/4or higher or equivalent qualifications in maths and English.

Due to the level of mathematics in the qualification a Level 3 maths qualification through qualifications or work experience would be desirable.

Computer or technology related qualification is desirable as are SQL skills.

An understanding of data security, Information Governance and GDPR will be developed.

Future prospects

After completion of the Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship you could be considered to progress onto the Level 6 Data Scientist Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Ideally the successful candidate will be available to start on the 2nd September 2019 but at a minimum would need to be available to attend college sessions on the 6th, 8th, 10th, 17th and 24th September 2019.
