DESCRIPTION OF VACANCY
S&D are looking for an Apprentice Administration and Mac Operator to work alongside our studio team in a fast paced, pressurised environment. Daily duties include liaising with account handlers and production managers, creating client artwork, printing and cutting customers files.
This will be a varied and exciting role for someone looking to take their first steps into a design career. Main duties to include: –
- Liaising with Account holders to discuss projects and customer requirements
- Acting on behalf of Production Manager and regular discussing designs and projects
- Creating visual designs and layouts
- Setting up MAC files against customers requirements
- Printing and Cutting files to be sent to the customers
- Maintaining accurate records of work both electronically and manually
- Ensuring supplies are clearly labelled and stored
- Maintaining regular communication with other areas of the business.
£3.90 per hour.
Overtime will be paid at time and a half for any work over 40 hours a week.
Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM
1 x 30 minute unpaid lunch break per day
2 x 15 minute paid breaks per day
Good attention to detail.
Ability to accurately proof your own work.
Articulate with excellent communication skills.
Enjoy creative studies at school.
Previous knowledge of using a mac would be advantageous.

Grade C or above at GCSE Maths & English & Art/Design
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
