  • You'll be working within our development team to build and maintain features. within our products using IPaaS applications and custom products where appropriate
  • You'll collaborate with the team to conceptualise new ideas
  • You'll work closely with the team to build new features for our growing user base
  • You'll research new web technologies and discuss potential solutions to problems
  • You'll help our support team triage bugs and troubleshoot production issues
  • You'll be mentored by other engineers and review code
  • As your experience develops you will have the opportunity to specify and eventually architect new features and shape our product and technology strategy


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • You should be expecting a great result in your Computer Science A level and already have demonstrated an interest in coding through your A Level or Codecademy and are seeking a Level 4 Software Developer apprenticeship
  • You can write good quality code with sound syntax
  • You enjoy problem solving and want to develop your skills in analysis and design
  • You should be able to interpret functional/technical specifications and ask relevant questions about what you don't understand
  • You would be comfortable in applying maths in both data and algorithms, as well as have an understanding of both waterfall and agile software development methodologies within a software development life cycle


Personal qualities

  • You can demonstrate an ability to problem solve, use your initiative, take responsibility, be organised and work independently, as and when appropriate
  • You should be a good communicator and like working in teams with like-minded individuals, but also have the ability to discuss and explain your point of view
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript


Desired qualifications

  • 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject but one must be in a numerical or computing subject (e.g. maths, Science, Computer Science etc)
  • 7 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades A-C including maths and English Language

Applications will also be considered from graduates with non-computer science degrees looking for an apprenticeship route to a development career.

Future prospects

Years 2- 4:

On successful completion, If you are not a graduate or you have a degree in a non tech subject, you'll have the opportunity to progress onto a degree apprenticeship programme, (BSc Hons Digital and Technology Solutions) where you'll undertake the software development pathway.

Things to consider

  • Interested in the future of technology, including AI and Machine Learning
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms, including kubernetes and serverless concepts
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts
  • Understanding of SRE concepts
  • Fluency in Python and/or Ruby
  • Working knowledge of APIs and backend frameworks
