Start Date
Duties to include:
  • Performs analysis of finished products to specified standards, as specified in laboratory procedures and the laboratory validation process
  • Accurate reporting of results to relevant people (planning, production etc) using LIMS etc
  • Provide all documentation, labels etcto keep area operational
  • Ensures compliance with documented quality systems, relevant to own area
  • Liaise with other departments on matters concerning product quality
  • Supports production in terms of process control and product quality and technical quality issues
  • Assists in the development of new products/product variations and analytical methods
  • Respond to internal customer queries (technical and otherwise) as and when require
  • Assists production management to maintain environmental performance and targets

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Experience of a variety of analytical techniques, e.g. GC, HPLC, UV/VIS, AA, titration, etc.
  • Some experience of working in a laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of basic Health & Safety in the laboratory
  • Computer literate, e.g. Microsoft Office, etc.

Desired qualifications

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 104 points at A-Level (Grades BCC), with one being Chemistry. Equivalent qualifications, such as a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, DDM, in a scientific discipline is also acceptable (or equivalent).
  • We will individually evaluate candidates who do not meet these requirementsbut have workplace experience.
  • Additionally, applicants who are unable to evidence achieving GCSE (or equivalent) grades A*-C/9-4 in Maths and English Languagewill need to complete Functional Skills, or equivalents, during the apprenticeship.

  • Possibility offull-time employment (QC Dept, Sales, Manufacturing or R& D)
