Job Details

Carers’ Support East Kent is a registered charity, we have been providing information, support and services to Carers since 2001.

We aim to ensure Carers are recognised, listened to, and offered information and support that is focused on their own needs and wellbeing, enabling them to continue care, where they choose to do so.

Some of the ways we do this are outlined below:

Information – we can provide information about support and services available and Carers’ entitlements and rights.

Support – we offer a listening ear, support groups, activities and training for Carers.
Carer’s Needs Assessment – we carry out Carer’s Needs Assessments on behalf of the local authority.
Kent Carer’s Emergency Card – we administer this free service to provide peace of mind when you are away from the person you care for.
Health and Wellbeing – we offer health and wellbeing sessions to Carers and work with GP’s to identify and support Carers’ own health and wellbeing.
Assistance with Welfare Benefits.


VACANCY DESCRIPTION
You will work as part of the HUB and Admin team who provide direct support to the Carer Support Coordinators and the wider organisation. The team are supportive and friendly and are looking forward to sharing their skills and knowledge with an enthusiastic and motivated individual.

The work environment can be a busy one, and the team are required to be responsive to changing priorities. Therefore, a positive attitude and flexibility are key attributes for team members.

Core Tasks:

Provide admin support to the Carer Support Coordinators as directed. 
Process incoming registrations/applications Data input 
Updating of appointments in diary as directed. 
Any other reasonable tasks requested by management or the trustees 
Monitor email inboxes as directed

The successful candidate must:

Have good IT skills
Have excellent organisational skills 
Be able to cope well in a busy environment 
Have the ability to be flexible when priorities change 
Be able to follow guidance, and work as part of a team.
Based in Aylesham.

WAGE
£8.50 an hour

WEEKLY

HOURS
Monday to Friday
37.5 working hours (9 to 5 or 10 to 6)
Half hour lunch break


SKILLS REQUIRED
The successful candidate must:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
A* – D GCSE English and Maths


TRAINING PROVIDED
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION
