Start Date
Duties will include:
  • Monitoring - Operate and monitor key cyber security systems within the organisation and correlates all systems to provide integrated threat information for remediation or further investigation
  • Link Analysis - Leverages various intelligence and monitoring tools to provide tactical level intelligence/assessment of threats to the business, performing root cause analysis and back casting of security incidents
  • Report Writing - Produces tactical evaluations of detections and threats in various formats (Word, PowerPoint) and supports the production of operations and strategic reports produced by the Security Operations Analyst
  • Network Analysis - Inspect network traffic/packets using industry standard network analysis tools
  • Data Mining - Leverages various Open Source resources to identify any patterns, trends or threats to the business and produce tactical level reporting on any detections
  • Incident Support - Supporting and monitoring incidents from end to end and managing areas of non-major incidents in accordance with standard playbooks
  • User Awareness Support - Supporting the delivery of user awareness training, including interacting with stakeholders to plan and organise training requirements
  • Residual Risk Assessment - Supporting the Post Incident Review process (root cause analysis) by contributing technical and thematic intelligence to enrich lessons learned
  • Forensic Support - Supporting the investigative function including preserving evidence for future exploitation and conducting low level forensic/eDiscovery analysis in support of the Security Operations Analysts

  • Ability to work with a range of internal and external people and communicate effectively
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Effective in working with diverse teams and sensitive to local social, political and cultural realities, communicate with team members and stakeholders in an effective manner
  • Comfortably interact across all mediums of interaction i.e. face to face vs virtual interactions with team and stakeholders
  • Establishes a professional network within own area and identifies experts across the team to draw on experience
  • Demonstrates understanding of the challenges and opportunities across cyber and delivers own work to meet business needs.

Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grades A*-C/9-4(must include English and maths)

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Qualifications in ICT/Cyber fields
  • Demonstrable interest in the cyber field and knowledge of current cyber topics/trends
