Over the course of your training you will gain responsibility and ownership for the following
tasks and processes:
  • Monthly and Quarterly Financial Record Keeping for clients using Xero
  • Raising and resolving record keeping queries with clients
  • Preparing quarterly financial reviews
  • Preparing quarterly VAT Returns
  • Preparing Statutory Accounts and Corporation Tax Computations for Small Companies
  • Interpreting financial statements to discuss with clients
  • Filing Tax Returns, Accounts and forms with HMRC and Companies House
  • respectively
  • Various Company Secretarial duties including Incorporating new companies andregistering for the relative taxes
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date client data with relevant authorities
  • Preparation and submission of personal tax returns
  • Dealing with routine correspondence with HMRC

Future prospects

Subject to your progress and performance; once you have completed your AAT qualification
you will have the opportunity to join a Chartered Accountancy training program. You will be
able to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in as little as five years. This is much sooner than if
you were to study at university, and with money in the bank instead of student debt.

For those who have already achieved AAT Level 3 & 4 there is an opportunity for those candidates to complete Level 7 with Limegreen Accountancy.
