ACCA apprentice required to join a rapidly growing Digital Accountancy Practice in Chichester. You will be exposed to both Financial & Management Accounting practices across a wide range of clients (250+) and business sectors.

We are a young dynamic Accounting practice with 5+ years' experience in using the Cloud Payroll and Accounting platforms to support our clients.

This position will give you the real-life skills needed to support your ACCA education and set you up to progress within the department.

You will get 121 training in all aspects of Accounting working alongside our ACCA Chief Accountant; Year End Accounts production and filing, Corporation Tax computations and filing, VAT returns, production of Self-Assessments and Research and Development claims.

  • Compile Year-End books in preparation for Accounts production
  • Produce Accounts to FRS 102 and 105 specifications
  • Communicate with client to confirm compliance to Accounting standards
  • Advise client on most tax efficient way of handling their remuneration.
  • Compile CT600 and review with Chief Accountant
  • File both Accounts and Tax returns with Companies House and HMRC
  • Deal with queries from HMRC
  • Compile R&D claims and ensure they meet the relevant criteria for Business research and write R&D brief for HMRC review
  • Produce monthly management accounts for clients and provide interruption into what is going on along with ideas and solutions.
  • Manage recommendations and feedback to client on their progress
  • Write business plans with clients to secure funding/investment and business validity.
  • Produce Cashflow forecasts and advice on potential issues
  • Manage the development of AAT apprentices and provide support where necessary
  • Review Apprentices performance every 6 mths and develop training plans with them

You will be responsible for the daily management and development of 3 AAT students through their level 3 and 4 qualifications.

Applicants must be very logical thinkers, who can also think outside the box. Have great attention to detail skills and love to solve problems. Be passionate about learning and interacting with customers daily.

Communication with clients is at the heart of our business so proven written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role.

You will have complete AAT or equivalent degree and ideally have at least 3 years' experience in a relevant Accounting field.
