In this role the key responsibilities will include:
  • Packaging Industry: Gain awareness of packaging industry developments, challenges & trends impacting the dairy industry for communication to the team and business for incorporation into business plans and projects.
  • Business Partnership/Project Management: Gain understanding of customer and overall business objectives well enough to support translation into robust packaging solutions that will be delivered on time and to budget. Keeps managers, peers and customers aware of key milestones and any deviations.
  • Material and technology: Gains knowledge and understanding of packaging material properties and their conversion used in Müller.
  • Science and Engineering: Gains a basic understanding of tools available to support statistical analysis and why. Understands the benefits of statistical techniques and the benefits of using statistical techniques to predict impact on processes and materials.
  • Packing and filling: Has a good understanding and knowledge of the packing equipment used across the business and why.
  • Processes & Tools: Understands key processes and tools used by the packaging team at Muller. Can confidently recommend new tools and processes to meet future needs.
  • Decoration/Print: Has a good understanding of basic principles of printing techniques for packaging and the commercial impact of choices available.
  • Innovation & Insight: Is passionate about the role of innovation and understands the innovation portfolio management process to be able to contribute with sound ideas and feedback for improvements.
  • Sustainability: Identifies, optimises and promotes an environmental and sustainability mind-set to optimise solutions and minimise environmental impact, to make sound recommendations for packaging solutions.
  • Quality, Food Safety, Legislation & Compliance: Understands all relevant legislation, standards and guidelines, applicable to packaging and food safety, to a level appropriate for their role. Puts the safety and quality of product and brand at the forefront of all activities.
  • Leadership and engagement: Engages other to build strong relationships, builds networks to actively engage and foster effective collaboration and actively listens to others in order to provide constructive feedback.
  • Supports: Other team members to support project development and aid personal development.
  • Ownership and accountability: Can confidently set own SMART targets and use effective time management skills to consistently deliver against objectives. Uses self-reflection, and feedback to determine areas for development and improvement.


Requirements and prospects

  • Has a keen interest in material science and product development wanting to understand more about the FMCG manufacturing process
  • Would like to understand more about the end to end project management
  • Demonstrates a keen attitude to learn and has basic understanding of packaging materials used in FMCG
  • Microsoft Office Suite literate

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and maths
