The purpose of the role is to provide project management delivery support to one or more Projects or Programmes within the Project Management team. You will be line managed by our Senior Project Manager, and on a day to day basis, report to one or more Project Managers (PMs).

The role will encompass the following:
  • Learn how projects are set up, and run, through supporting the Project Managers
  • Gain an understanding of the project delivery process through supporting the PM's
  • Provide support to identify and maintain project data including stakeholders, sites and assets
  • Manage project control processes on behalf of the PM's including issues and risks management, change management, resource management, requirements management and financial management
  • Provide admin support to project / programme meetings. Duties will include meeting scheduling, minute taking/ writing up and tracking agreed actions

Desired skills

You will need the ability to analyse information, be detailed and accurate in your work and have very good written and verbal communication skills.

You will need to be self-motivated and able to work to deadlines to achieve both the requirements of the role and the apprenticeship studies. You should have good IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly. Ability and confidence to establish and build effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders and to work effectively both as part of a team and on your own initiative is essential.

Personal qualities

You will have a strong commitment to high standards and be willing to help colleagues and customers alike. You will be a self-starter willing to ask lots of questions with a desire to learn and achieve.

Desired qualifications

  • Min 3 GCSE's at Grade C or equivalent or higher (incmaths and English).
  • An A level or a similar Level 3 qualification


Future prospects

  • If a vacancy is available at the end of the apprentice's fixed te1rm contract, they will be able to apply for this


Things to consider

  • You will be dealing with all kinds of queries, in a busy open plan office environment. You may be required to travel to other Council locations within the Borough
  • Candidates need to be prepared to travel regularly to Highbury College to attend study days and any other events related to this apprenticeship
