Duties to include:
  • Communicating with colleagues by email, phone and online chat
  • Participating in team meetings
  • Looking at all the different channels and ways we market and target consumers, including social media and digital channels
  • Spending time in shopping centres with the Marketing team, understanding the operational side of marketing to shoppers
  • Spending time with the Asset Management teams to understand the key messages they want to get across
  • Loading content to marketing and social media channels (internal and external)
  • Supporting colleagues with the creation of agency briefs
  • Helping coordinate promotional events designed to promote and market the Hammerson brand
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to help generate good news stories and content that can be promoted through our PR network
  • Working with the Customer Experience team on project delivery and planning
  • Helping to audit activity and the customer experience in Hammerson's centres versus our competitors
  • Helping to compile and analyse various internal stakeholder reports, including customer research and feedback
  • Spending time with the Insights team, understanding the breadth of analysis available and looking at opportunities to use this in different way

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • You have impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • You will ideally have some work experience in Retail (although this is not essential)
  • You have a basic knowledge of Windows and MS Office

Personal qualities

  • You are able to organise and prioritise effectively
  • You have a keen interest in social and digital media
  • You can demonstrate a strong interest in Retail and/or Marketing
  • You are confident and independent

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE mathematics grade C - A(or 4 - 7) or level 2 functional skill or the equivalent
  • Five GCSE grades C - A(or 4 - 7), including maths and English or the equivalent

Future prospects

After your Marketing apprenticeship, possible progress into a full-time Junior, Specialist, Executive or Associate in: Social Media, Communications and PR, Marketing Research, Brand Building and more.
