Manufacturing Engineering Degree Apprenticeship - Rotherham
- Enthusiasm for manufacturing engineering
- Analytical and motivated
- Team skills
Our Degree Apprentices need to be passionate about manufacturing engineering. So, you should be:
- Endlessly curious about how things are made
- You'll also have to be numerate and process-focused - something you'll have proven with an impressive set of exam results.
Our Apprenticeships involve a fair amount of academic work. For that reason, we'll need you to have already achieved a certain level in your education:
- We look for three A-Levels at A* to B in Maths and either Physics, Chemistry or Engineering, or an Engineering-focused Level 3 Extended BTEC.
• Career support from day one
• Learn alongside world-class engineers
• Develop confidence and teamwork skills on our Outward Bound programme
Things to consider What next? There are four stages on your journey to becoming an apprentice with us. 1. APPLICATION Once you've decided which programme is for you, you'll need to find an appropriate vacancy and apply online in 'search and apply'. Remember, you can only apply for one role each cycle, so make sure it's the right one for you. You will need to write two statements telling us why you are applying for this apprenticeship, why you want to work for Rolls-Royce and why you are the best person for the job. Think about how you can show passion for your chosen career, mention any relevant projects that you have worked on or hobbies, interests and extracurricular activities that demonstrate why you are great match for this apprenticeship. Remember, do your company research. Know what we make, who we work with and the markets we work in (e.g. we don't make cars anymore!) 2. ONLINE ASSESSMENTS Immediately after submitting your application you will receive two emails - one to acknowledge this has been received, and; - a second inviting you to take our online assessments. You'll need to complete the assessments provided within ten days for your application to be considered. Please note: not all emails are compatible with our systems so please check your spam/junk folders to ensure that you have received both emails. You can also access these emails via the “my job page” on your Rolls-Royce careers profile. If you're having any difficulties please contact firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Before you start the tests, try out some sample questions by visiting Online Assessment Practice page. You can also read HELP AND TIPS FOR ONLINE ASSESSMENTS to help you perform at your best and find answers to some of the most common queries we receive about our assessments. 3. COME TO OUR ASSESSMENT CENTRE If your application is successful, you'll be invited to our assessment centre. The day consists of: • Innovation and Motivation Exercise: provides an opportunity for you to understand more about our vision for the future, including the importance of finding the next generation of graduates and apprentices. You'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your motivation for applying to us and enthusiasm for our business. • Technical interview: we'd like to gain an understanding of how well you are able to learn and understand information that relates to our business. We're also interested in your understanding of Rolls-Royce and the different sectors in which we operate. • Group exercise: we'll ask you to participate in a group activity that will allow us to observe how you work with others in a team environment. 4. STARTING AT ROLLS-ROYCE If your application is successful, we'll be in touch with the good news. Once you accept a role, we'll make joining us as easy as possible. We'll put you in contact with the right people straight away so you can meet your colleagues, learn more about your programme and get excited about creating your career with us.
