Role

The role will be a combination of technical design, PLC programming, documentation and testing. Working with an experienced engineer with to opportunity to learn and develop.

Primary Areas

Electrical Design

Become familiar with
  • PLC based low voltage control systems incorporating (but not limited to) sensors, motors, and load cells
  • Ethernet Input / Output devices
  • Gain an understanding of the design requirements of automatic systems for check weighing, bulk weighing, metal detection and X-ray contamination detection

Electrical drawings
  • Learn how to interpret and produce drawings for electrical design
  • Create wiring diagrams

Compliance
  • Gain an understanding of the Technical Directives that are relevant to this role

Test
  • Prototyping and Testing of new designs and fixes
  • Documentation
  • Produce instructions, reports of findings and parts lists

Secondary responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of new products and product features
  • Provide technical assistance to Installation, Service and Software Support teams
  • Provide specifications for new and replacement components to Purchasing/Buying team
  • Give technical input to the sales process

Desired qualifications

  • Qualified to L3BTEC Diploma level in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with an interest in logical systems
  • GCSE Maths 4/9 or C-A* (or equivalent)
