Description of Vacancy
To carry out in an efficient and courteous manner all reception and admin duties relating to a GP surgery.

To carry out in an efficient and courteous manner all reception and admin duties including greeting patients, booking appointments, answering the phone promptly, dealing with patient enquiries, filing, photocopying and prescription requests. To ensure the waiting room and reception office is kept neat and tidy. To make effective use of the computer system by ensuring consistent and accurate entering of data. Sending letters and making telephone calls to patients and other third-party organisations. To be responsible for all notice boards with the assistance of the practice manager. To protect patient and staff confidentiality.


Monday to Friday alternate weeks
8.30am to 4.30pm
10am to 6.30pm
30 mins unpaid

Good level of maths
Confident interpersonal skills

Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work under your own initiative

Personal Qualities
Confident, outgoing individual who enjoys a degree of routine admin and has the ability to communicate with all individuals. Full training will be given but you will need to enjoy talking to people and using the telephone.

Qualifications Required
GCSE English and Maths and Computer Skills Grade C or above.

Training Provided 
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards
