The successful candidate will join the Group Applications development team. Working closely with the Group Applications Developer, the successful candidate will play a significant part in applications development and maintenance. AMH authors its own software, including its Electronic Resource Planning (ERP) system. The successful candidate will work on projects to improve and extend these systems, as well as work with other members of the IT team to deliver the Group's digital and applications strategies over the next three years.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Work closely with the Group Head of IT and Group Applications developer on the development operations platform
  • Be involved in development tasks and work closely with project owners to deliver software projects and milestones on time
  • Learn the business and make recommendations for changes to software in line with the digital strategy
  • Work with colleagues to quickly identify and resolve software issues or bugs as they arise

  • Good ability to work as part of a development team
  • Ability to work on own initiative during development sprints
  • Willingness to learn and improve


Personal qualities

Must have the following attributes:
  • Professional and presentable manner, you will be working at group HQ


Desired qualifications

  • GCSE English & Mathematics at Grade C/4 or equivalent
  • Foreign Language skills desirable (German/Polish would be a distinct advantage)


Future prospects

For the right candidate, further development of skills to subsequent levels (degree and higher degree) may be offered on the successful completion of this apprenticeship programme. Conversion to a full-time employee contract may be offered on successful completion of this programme.

Access to own transportation desirable. Valid Passport essential as tasks may be undertaken at our European divisions from time to time.
