You'll create real change by helping local and international businesses find better ways of managing tax, all while studying for a professional qualification as part of your apprenticeship so you can progress towards becoming a tax advisor.

What is Tax at EY?

What will you be doing?

You'll develop your understanding of local and international tax laws, and gain a greater breadth of knowledge by:
  • Working across various specialist tax teams within UK & Ireland or Financial Services
  • Working directly on tax reporting, technical research, data analysis and calculatingtax payments alongside senior colleagues
  • Building important relationships with clients

You'll also gain a host of transferable skills, and you'll receive on-the-job coaching and support from a careers counsellor to ensure that you reach your potential.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

You'll work as part of small high-performing teams, so team working, excellent communication skills, organisation skills, attention to detail as well as be able to think critically, is essential.

Personal qualities

You will need to be able to workwell with others. Determination, ambition, energyand enthusiasmare also essential in this role.

Desired qualifications

You'll need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalents) in English Language & maths and to have completed three A-Levels, five Scottish Highers or equivalents by the time the programme starts.

To be considered for this opportunity you will have to satisfy the following additional requirements which are specific to this programme:
  • Be 18or over when starting the apprenticeship (for legal reasons)
  • Not in full-time education when starting the apprenticeship
  • UK/EEA Nationality or Permanent Residency Status
  • Residing in the UK/EEA for at least 3 years prior to starting your apprenticeship
