This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing logistics start-up and be part of the in-house R&D team.

Day to day tasks include:
  • Work alongside the solution developer and solution manager to deliver high quality integrations to support the business
  • Work with the whole range of web technologies available and integrate both customers and suppliers into the system landscape
  • Work with C# and the .Net Core framework, and occasionally PHP might be required.
  • Learn how a solution is taken from idea to productions ready software
  • Work with the latest technologies available in the market to, over time, start delivering infrastructure for the front-end and / or back-end, depending on where you would like to further your skillset and develop in your career as a software engineer
  • Gain experience working in APG's fully cloud-native technological base to help build solutions with the both the latest architectural approaches such as microservices and micro frontends, and with the latest infrastructural technologies such as serverless compute and serverless messaging

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Ideally the candidate will have some previous experience with programming, preferably in an object-oriented language like Java or C#.

Desired qualifications

A levels (level 3), normally in a minimum of two subjects, plus A*-C or 9-4GCSE qualifications (Level 2) in English and maths. Applicants with no formal qualifications will also be considered on an individual basis.

Before taking their end-point assessment, allapprentices on apprenticeships at level 3 and above must achieve Level 2 English and maths (equivalent to GCSEs at grades A* to C or 4 -9). The apprentice can take these qualifications at the university while on the apprenticeship.

Future prospects

Position will be based in London but occasionally the candidate will be required to travel to fulfil duties.
