The Project Support Officer is responsible for the oversight of a portfolio of projects and change activity that contribute to the delivery of departmental or business area objectives.
The key purpose of the role is to provide clear, timely and sufficient information so that the Senior Leadership Team is able to make evidence based decisions.

Desired qualifications
Must have 5 GCSEs at grade C (4) or higher, or the new grade level 4 in English Language and maths (or equivalent).
Future prospects
The apprenticeship will last for 18 months. We'll train you in a range of different aspects of our work in Change Management and you'll take on real office responsibilities every day. Along the way, you'll be supported by your manager and a mentor. You will also be part of an Acas apprentice network.
Armed with new qualification, transferable skills and all the practical knowledge and experience developed over 18 months, candidate will be ready for a rewarding career within the Project Management Office function.

Main Accountabilities:
Reporting
- Maintain the portfolio view of all Acas project and change activity ensuring that it's accurate, and up-to-date
- Support the identification of interdependencies across change activity and projects
- Report issues to relevant colleagues, and recommend action where necessary
- Commission information to populate the corporate performance reports when necessary
Project and Change Management
- Project manage the Senior Leadership Team events
- Work with senior leaders in the collation of the agenda, booking of venues, liaising with suppliers and providing practical support on the day for the smooth execution of the event
- Provide administrative and practical support to the Change Management Office in the building of Change and Project Management capability across the organisation
Board support
- Provide support for the Performance, Planning and Change Board where necessary e.g. taking accurate minutes, actions, collating agendas and collating and disseminating papers

Essential:
- Proficient at using IT systems, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office packages and SharePoint
- Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate in a friendly, open and constructive manner with a diverse range of people
- Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and be proactive
- Highly organised, motivated and able to prioritise workload accordingly
