Clinical Research Practitioner Apprentice
  • The Research and Innovation (R&I) Department supports research and innovation within all medical specialities, ranging from observational to highly advanced, interventional studies.
  • In 2017/2018 the Trust consented 5,313 patients to participate in ethically approved research, the highest within Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
  • An opportunity has arisen for an Clinical Research Practitioner Apprentice to join our busy R&I team.

The position provides opportunity to study towards BSc (Hons) Applied Bioscience in Clinical Research Operations while directly learning about research and innovation within the health sector. With support, the post holder will assist in set up and conduct of allocated projects, learn about the governance process, help maintain trial documentation, assist with management of research data and develop new skills required to deliver research projects. The Clinical Research Practitioner Apprentice will support Senior Clinical Research Practitioners and other colleagues with their duties and provide general support.

Requirements and prospects

Personal qualities

Desired qualifications

A minimum of 80 UCAS points from a minimum of 2 A-level subjects including Biology or equivalent e.g. BTEC National Diplomas, IB or DVCE.

A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) - grades 9-4 (A*-C) including science, maths and English.

Skills and Qualification to be able to apply for Band 5 Clinical Research Practitioner posts.
