The Finance Apprentice will also gain wider business experience through involvement in specific projects, job shadowing, and interaction with the Senior Finance team. In doing so they will build their understanding of our operations and develop their business acumen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Treasury Assistant
  • Posting bank transactions and performing bank reconciliations
  • Daily cash balances flash report and monitoring against monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Manual cheques processing
  • Recording divisional completion monies
  • Bank liaison for basic operational issues
  • Other tasks as required

Cost Controller
  • Control over ledgers of 3 companies
  • Processing and filing invoices, preparation of payment runs, and supplier statement reconciliations for the 3 companies
  • Assisting other cost controllers where required with the registering of invoices, filing needs, etc.
  • Other tasks as required


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to succeed in the role as you will be working with a number of internal and external stakeholders, as well as senior finance team members.

Personal qualities

An ability to work to deadlines, especially at month end/year end, together with a keen attention to detail and a strong work ethic are key to the role.

Desired qualifications

  • AAT Level 3
  • 5 GCSE's A*-C (9-4) or equivalent including maths and English
