Income Recovery Business Administration Apprentice

DESCRIPTION OF VACANCY
To support and assist the Finance Income Team with tasks relating to the recovery of co-ordinated corporate debts and sundry debts owed to the council.
To support the Income Recovery Team in administration tasks relating to identified corporate debts and sundry debts in order to maximise debt collection across selected debt areas of the council.
To also assist in providing a central point of contact for customers to help them manage their debt more efficiently; paying particular attention to those customers that are vulnerable.
To assist in the preparation of paperwork for cases which require Court action and refer to the Income Recovery Officers.
To carry out searches as required tracing customers who have moved.
Liaising with staff from the various departments of the Council including officers from Housing, Revenues and Benefits, Parking Services, together with external agencies such as the CAB, MIND and enforcement agencies.
Dealing with enquiries from customers by telephone, face to face, letter or email.
To assist with the provision of a high quality Finance Service.
To help the team provide a high quality customer service, working to maximise the collection of sundry debt and corporate debts.
£144.30 per week
37 hours per week
Working Mon – Friday
Ability to carry out basic office skills.
Good IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Office.
Ability to follow set procedures and routines.
Be willing to work towards an NVQ in business administration.
Have an awareness of good customer service practise.
Be able to demonstrate good telephone manner.
Be a good team player and also be able to work on your own.
Confidentiality is essential
GCSE maths and English language grade 4/5 or equivalent.
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
