Buttercups is a small and friendly childminding service in Ramsgate. Since we started operating, in June 2018, we have steadily built up a good reputation in the area and are looking to grow further, making it a great opportunity for an apprentice to join the team!

As the Apprentice Childminding Assistant, you would be joining a small, friendly and supportive team in Thanet. You will have the opportunity to learn the basics of childcare from those with more experience.

This is an exciting chance to take your first steps in childcare by joining a friendly team which is looking to grow. Tasks will include – but are not limited to – the following:

– Helping to provide a supportive environment for children and caring for their individual needs
-Working alongside your teammates to coordinate and plan a range of activities for the children
-Setting up and tidying away activities on a daily basis
-Monitoring and reporting on the children’s progress

£140.40 p/w

36 working hours per week, 48 weeks of the year (including Annual Leave):

Monday: 08:00 – 17:00
Tuesday: 08:00 – 17:00
Wednesday: 08:00 – 12:00
Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
Friday: 08:00 – 17:00

An hour’s lunch break (unpaid) will be given on full-day shifts

Shift patterns may vary during the school holidays. Please be aware that due to the nature of this role, Annual Leave will only be able to be taken during school holidays.

The successful candidate should be able to communicate with a range of age-groups

The successful candidate should be energetic and enthusiastic, with good time-keeping skills.
We are after somebody who is willing to learn and will make the most of the opportunity provided.
Offer of the apprenticeship will be subject to references and a DBS.

English GCSE Grade C / 4 or equivalent
Maths GCSE Grade D/3 or equivalent

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
