This role is for a trainee Engineer within Digital and Technology working towards the required qualifications and experience for a Network Engineer role.

As an apprentice Engineer you will be responsible for assisting in a high quality, practical, flexible Network Service that meets the overall requirement of Sainsbury's business, and alongside this you will work towards being a recognised Technology expert in Networking.

  • Work closely with the Network Services team to ensure the smooth implementation of solutions
  • Contribute to the improvement of the Network Services capability within the company
  • Help to ensure the roles and responsibilities of the Network Team are fulfilled
  • Communicate and engage with team and any stakeholders
  • Implement network systems and components in accordance within defined processes
  • Play a part in the management of issues, and incidents within the Network environment
  • Works closely with the Network Services team to ensure the smooth implementation of solutions
  • Demonstrate participation with senior team members to aid in the implementation of signed off design documents with the Network Services Lead and Senior Network Engineers

As you progress in your Apprenticeship you will be given additional duties and responsibilities to ensure you gain a broad set of skills, knowledge and experience in the business.

Desired qualifications

You will need at least a 5 GCSE grade 4/C including maths & English. You will have completed ideally a Level 3 IT apprenticeship or at least a Level 3 BTEC and/or A level in ICT or have practical experience in a similar role.

Most employers working with Leicester College are keen to offer permanent employment to a reliable, hardworking individual based on their performance throughout their Apprenticeship.
