The general duties of a police officer include:
As a police constable degree apprentice, you will study, both in the classroom and in the workplace, to gain the knowledge to become a competent police officer.
The academic side of the learning programme will be delivered by our partners, Leeds Trinity University, and experienced police trainers at our training Complex at Carr Gate, Wakefield and LTU's campus in Horsforth, Leeds.
When you are not studying, you will work with police colleagues on professional rotations across operational policing teams. Daily duties will vary dependent upon your rotation and you will have the opportunity to gain experience as part of our neighbourhood policing, frontline response, and investigations teams.
You will be a part of our policing team from your first day and will be serving the communities of West Yorkshire by protecting the vulnerable and helping to solve some of the most serious crimes and catch those responsible.
During your on the job training you will work in one of the five policing Districts named below:

Once you have successfully completed the three year police constable degree apprenticeship, you will be posted into a police constable role within the West YorkshirePolice force.
Things to consider

Desired qualifications
- You must hold Level 2 maths and English Language (i.e. GCSE A*-C or 9-4 or equivalents) AND Level 3 or A-Level, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent qualifications, worth 104 UCAS points or more.
