The Higher Engineering Apprenticeship has been designed for candidates who are passionate about studying Engineering at degree level whilst designing and working hands on with JCB products.
As a Higher Engineering Apprentice working at one of JCB’s UK Business Units you will develop the knowledge and hands on skills to research new technologies, design & develop JCB machinery and become a skilled JCB Engineer working in roles such as:
- Product Design
- R&D
- Manufacturing
- Quality
- Technical Service

Engineering Foundation Degree & BEng (Hons) Top up (360 credits in total)
Vocational Qualification(s)
Competency Based Level 4 NVQ
Entry requirements
4 GCSE’s at grade 5 or above. (for awards made before summer 2017 you will require minimum grade C or above) and must include Maths, English & a relevant scientific/ technical subject.
In addition to the above relevant GCSE's you will also need to achieve, or be predicted to achieve the following:
3 A levels at an absolute minimum of grade C and above, including Maths & a relevant scientific / technical subject (2 AS level passes are considered equivalent to one A level)
Or
Advanced VCE award in an appropriate engineering/manufacturing topic
Or
EdExcel/BTEC/National Extended Diploma Level 3, (including: Further Math’s modules)
Or
Advanced Diploma (level 3 qualifications) in engineering / science or technology
Or
A qualification equivalent to any of the above or a combination
