Apprentice Customer Support/Trainee Tennis Coach
Maidstone Tennis Academy is a highly respected inclusive academy in Kent, we run a coaching programme which caters for all ages and abilities.
DESCRIPTION OF VACANCY
We are looking for a hard working, enthusiastic sport loving, customer focused individual who would like a position in a highly regarded indoor tennis academy in Kent,
You will receive ongoing coach education, a leaders and LTA level 1 tennis coaching qualification as well as a Customer Service Apprenticeship.
Keeping courts clean and tidy
Providing excellent customer service, meeting and greeting parents & children as they arrive on court
Liaise with parents to collect information for child’s recent results and add to social media platforms
Booking children into day tennis camps, taking payment and ensuring forms are fully completed accurately
Taking register’s and keeping them updated
Keeping a daily log of court conditions
Advertising the academy (through leaflet distribution)
Being a lively and friendly member of the coaching team
Working with young children and adults on court with a coach
Having good rapport with all ages
Helping with poster design and keeping the noticeboard up to date and vibrant Keeping social media updated with results and latest news
Listening and understanding the needs of customers and responding in a way that builds rapport
Learn how to use the court booking system
Attend a Leaders tennis coaching course and level 1 LTA tennis coach course
£117 per week plus £1000 performance bonus paid in 2 instalments after 6 months and 12 months. Petrol paid when work related.
30 hour working week, lunch is 1 hour unpaid
Monday 9-4 (12-1 lunch)
Tuesday 9-6 (12-1 lunch)
Wednesday 3 – 9
Thursday 12 – 7 (1-2 lunch)
Friday – day off
Saturday day off
Sunday 9 – 3 (1 – 2 lunch)
A love of sport with some racket sport experience would be an advantage. Ideally would have competed in a sport at competition level but not a must. A car driver due to late hours on court and moving between clubs if necessary.
Enthusiastic, friendly and outgoing with a good sense of humour, patience and good time keeping necessary and gets on well with children. Good customer service skills and attention to detail required.
Maths and English level C or above
GCSE PE level C or above.
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
