The successful candidate will be expected to improve their knowledge and skills over time in order to become a capable developer who will eventually be able to develop websites and applications from scratch.

JD is a small but rapidly growing company. The successful candidate will have the potential to become a key team member as the company expands.

This is a full-time role working from our Bournemouth office.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Responding to client support via telephone and email
  • Logging support requests into our support desk software and managing the workload
  • Resolving technical issues through research, communicating with developers and developing solutions
  • Applying fixes and improvements to WordPress and Joomla websites
  • Making changes to Shopify eCommerce websites
  • Answering questions from potential customers regarding our in-house built Shopify apps
  • Populating WordPress websites with content


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Customer Service experience
  • An eagerness to learn and develop knowledge and skills.
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Experience working with different software
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to learn quickly and understand specific software applications
  • Effective time management skills, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines


Personal qualities

  • Some experience building and/or maintaining WordPress websites
  • Some experience building and/or maintaining Shopify websites would be advantageous, though not essential
  • Strong problem-solving abilities


Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) A-C/8-4, must have maths and English
  • A-levels/ BTEC orequivalent


Future prospects

Full-time job role after the apprenticeship is finished for the right candidate.

The National Minimum Wage for apprentices is £3.90 per hour as of 1st of April 2018. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
