We are seeking to engage with bright apprentices regarding a fantastic new opportunity for anapprentice software tester to join our established IBAconsulting division.

The apprentice software tester will be involved in all aspects of testing throughout the project lifecycle, from initial development testing through to final acceptance. The ideal graduate software tester will have knowledge of testing and software, a relevant degree or desire to undertake a software testing role, and excellent communications skills.

The professional and collaborative environment allows for many opportunities to progress and work on several different areas/stages of software testing including automation and RPA.

Full training will be given.

Please note: part of your job will be based across the UK, with international travel.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
  • Working with the test manager, project managers, and tech leads to produce test plans
  • Reviewing applications against requirements during development to confirm that all requirements have been met
  • Collaborating with developers to ensure that test scripts are adequate and appropriate
  • Advising engineers on automated scripts and helping generate them
  • Performing system and regression testing of applications before they are released to clients

Requirements and prospects

  • Good interpersonal skills in order to tactfully handle interactions with developers about bugs
  • Work experience within a software company or IT department
  • Demonstrable analytical skills
  • Experience in performance/load testing, non-functional testing or security testing is also desirable

  • Ability to work independently on several projects at once
  • A strong willingness to learn and work well as a team
  • An appetite for hard work, taking initiative and being proactive in your own personal development


Desired qualifications

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths).
