Start Date
Duties to include:
  • To assist the IT Team in the day to day running of IT systems for BPL and assist the department in dealing with IT queries
  • To assist in providing 1st and 2nd line technical support, answering support queries either in person, phone or by email
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of the company's internal IT systems
  • Ensure that as the IT Apprentice you provide a support service that meets the needs of all employees of BPL
  • Assist in the support and guidance to employees highlighting the importance of BPL core values through the use of IT systems
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment.
  • Assist in configuring and set up of new server systems, required internally for company activities
  • Assist with the Install, configuration, and support of LAN, WAN and internet systems.
  • Become familiar with and take part in training to ensure full knowledge of relevant acts and legislation relating to BPL operations
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary advice.
  • At all times, comply with policies and procedures of BPL
  • Assist in maintaining network and workstation hardware and software at all Barnsley Premier Leisure sites
  • To assist in ensuring that the IT and Systems department provides a professional and effective service in all aspects of IT Support
  • To provide support and advice to all BPL employees in the use of IT systems and processes
  • To act as an Ambassador for BPL at all times, supporting and promoting BPL Strategic aims and core values
  • Assist in monitoring the network to ensure network availability to all system users and assist in performing necessary maintenance to support network availability

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Candidates should have a good awareness of the IT sector and broad understanding of most aspects of IT and telecommunications
  • An ideal candidate will likely have IT related hobbies
  • Experience using MS Office suite would be useful
  • You must be flexible and adaptable in order to meet the needs of the business

Desired qualifications

  • 112 UCAS points from A-Levels or Level 3 BTEC (including IT or Computer Science) or completion of a Level 3 IT apprenticeship.
