A mixed 11-19 aged community secondary school.

The North School prioritises both the academic and pastoral care of our students ensuring that we provide robust systems and high expectations of achievement and behaviour.

There are three communities within the school that put the student at the heart of everything we do. These communities are Essella, Mabledon and the Sixth Form. Within each community there is a Principal, Vice Principal, two learning leaders, two pastoral support managers and also their tutor. This creates a dedicated team around the child that provides an effective platform for learning, self-improvement and academic success.

Description of Vacancy
The North School is seeking a reliable, professional, highly motivated person to join our front-of-house team as an administrative apprentice.

You will be required to help out on a range of administrative tasks, including switchboard and reception duties. You will have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office. You must be competent in the use of internet, email and be able to deal with face to face communications with confidence and tact and confidentiality. You need to have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across a wide spectrum of people. You will need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have the aptitude and initiative to solve problems and plan your work load.

0-4 months £146 pw

5-8 months £156 pw

9 months-completion £167 pw

Hours
All year round 37 hours per week 8.15am-4.15pm

Skills Required
Good IT skills with a knowledge of a range of different computer packages e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. 
Well organised with the ability to work to tight timescales and demonstrate attention to detail. 
Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a wide range of customers, contractors and other members of staff. 
Ability to work individually and as an effective team member. 
An understanding of the need to deal with customers sensitively and to keep information confidential. 
Ability to take on individual project work and demonstrate initiative. 
Good keyboard skills and the ability to use a word processing package.

Qualifications Required
GCSE grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics (or equivalent). Willing to undertake NVQ whilst working full time

Training Provided
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

Important Information
