Engineering Degree Apprenticeship
ENGINEERING DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP
Bachelor’s degree level education with real-world experience of cutting-edge engineering
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Enthusiasm for engineering Analytical and motivated Team skills
Beyond your academic qualifications, we'll be looking for evidence that you're genuinely enthusiastic about developing a career in engineering. For example, we'd like to hear about an engineering project you've done at school, or a club you've been involved with or in your spare time. Whatever it is, we need to know you've thought things through and are fairly sure that this career is right for you.
You'll be analytical, methodical and good at solving problems, as well as articulate, driven and a fast learner. We'll also ask you to tell us about times where you’ve shown motivation outside of school or college – for example in playing sports, learning languages, organising a significant event or taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Despite the size of our company, we all enjoy working with other people and team work is key. So, we'll be interested in how you've worked well in a group. That could be at school, with your family, in a sports team, at work, in voluntary organisations, such as the Guides, Scouts or Cadets, or as part of religious or community activities.
WHAT YOU COULD BE DOING
Join our Engineering Degree Apprenticeship Programme and, while you're working towards a Bachelor’s degree-level education, you'll also be getting invaluable real-world experience. By the time you finish the programme, you'll have achieved your degree, and be ready on a practical level to start taking your development way beyond that.
All the way through your Degree Apprenticeship, you'll be working alongside exceptional engineering professionals. You'll gain a firm foundation in engineering principles, before going on to placements in different areas of the company. These generally last four months each, which allows you to develop a real understanding of what working in that area means.
We recruit Engineering Degree Apprentices into Civil Aerospace, Defence Services and Nuclear. If we hire you into one of these areas, you'll enjoy on and off the job training, a competitive salary and opportunities to progress within our Engineering function. Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you’ll have a good idea of where you want to focus. For example, you could be a Design Engineer, Stress Engineer, Development Engineer or a Service Engineer.
