Your Learning Provider is currently outlined as University of Salford but please note this could be subject to change depending on availability.

During your 5 year apprenticeship, no two days will be the same as you study and work with a variety of teams whilst developing the skills you need to enjoy a great future at Atkins. Spending either one day a week at the college or doing block weeks. Not only will you learn in the classroom, you'll enjoy being part of the team as you will get involved with all kinds of projects and learn something new every day.

Personal qualities

  • Theability to work in a team, assisting with the smooth running of a variety of projects
  • To be reliable, practical and self-motivated
  • A lateral thinker who can apply technical knowledge to analyse problems, create innovative solutions and make sound decisions and isn't afraid to push boundaries
  • You have a keen interest in civil or architectural engineering and desire a future career in this field
  • You enjoy using technology to find solutions to challenges
  • You enjoyed mathematics or physics at college
  • You want a degree with professional status


Desired qualifications

We are looking for students who have a keen desire to follow a career in civil engineering. Good interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic are desirable. You should have a good understanding of linking theory to real life applications and an attention to detail.

GCSEs including a B/6 in mathematics & C/5 in English Language and Literature + 112 UCAS points or equivalent, to include mathematics and Science. For full details click here:
