You will be learning about construction projects and specifically focussing on the financial issues. Working with our clients, which are major banks and funders, you will attend site and help to prepare reports detailing the financial risks to a development. These reports outline the project in detail, what the developer plans to do, detailed planning permission issues, construction costs, insurance details of all sub-contractors working on the project etc. These reports are sent to the bank/funder to enable them to assess the project risk profile prior to releasing funds.
You will be working on lots of projects at the same time, visiting various sites monthly to assess progress on site and report to the bank/funder.
You need to have a good understanding of maths and finance. You need to be okay about attending sites in bad weather and getting up early to be in the right place at the right time.
Balancing a busy job with studying is not easy and you will have to work hard, but the rewards are there for the right person.
