To shadow the existing Technician and learn their job role and responsibilities, as you become more competent you will be expected to take over duties to give them time to do other tasks.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
  • Using the company's ticketing system to provide 1st and 2nd line IT support
  • Responsible for general user support on both hardware and software across the range of the site's desktop & server applications
  • Some examples of specific types of support include general system/file or desktop user problems (passwords, files, paths, servers and printers)
  • Administration and support of the sites Windows 20xx Microsoft Windows AD Network & Servers
  • Build & deployment of system images & software
  • End user education & training
  • System builds on Windows 7 & 10 & MS Office 20xx Suite
  • Keep inventory of hardware and software up to date
  • Train staff in the use of ICT within the schools
  • Support the MIS system (SIMS)
  • Configure and support a wide range of Audio-Visual Equipment (networked projectors, interactive
  • LCD's, portable sound systems, etc.)
  • Provide support for installing, testing and configuring new software prior to user interaction
  • Support mobile devices and MDM solutions including but not limited to iPads and Chromebooks
  • Initiation and escalation
  • Troubleshooting network issues
  • Apply a logical, systematic and resourceful approach to solve problems
  • Ability to accurately document procedures and issues

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Must have a full UK driving licence due to travel to see clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in an important customer facing position Ideally experience and good knowledge in IT
  • Shows initiative for new technologies and able to apply logic and good problem-solving skills when faced with new problems
  • Able to demonstrate initiative when faced with complicated problems/scenarios
  • Able to plan, schedule and monitor own work within limited time horizons
  • Able to make sure a task is completed on time but also ensures that work is completed to a high standard

Desired qualifications

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths).
