Job Details
If you enjoy being busy and have the energy and flexibility to deal with a wide variety of situations, you’ll be ideally suited to this role. Apprentice Power Technicians work on a wide variety of plant and equipment found throughout the engineering industry. It’s a vital role as the work you’ll be carrying out is critical to the entire network.
We’ll teach you the skills and knowledge you need to work safely on electrical and mechanical power systems that run our large network. Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll join a team responsible for several telephone exchanges and data centres in your area.
Training & Support
Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as first principles relating to the operation and maintenance of appropriate plant and equipment, health and safety standards and environmental and regulatory requirements. You’ll also learn a range of engineering theories and principles.
Entry Requirements
To join our Apprentice Power Technician (Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician) Level 3 programme you’ll need to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4–9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language and Maths, or equivalent qualifications. However, your Maths GCSE MUST BE at grade 6 (B or above). You’ll also need a full driving licence with no more than six points.
