Main responsibilities of the role:
Reporting to the lead HR analyst, the main responsibilities of this role are set out below. The team works flexibly so you will be expected to take on a variety of different tasks that support the team including:
  • Delivering the department's formal HR data submissions to ONS and Cabinet Office (primarily using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel). The role will be responsible for driving data quality in DCMS management information; ensuring that the information that the Department produces is accurate, consistent and in line with centrally mandated standards. This will involve maintaining and developing systems to collate, quality assure and analyse HR data
  • Leading on diversity analysis within the department including calculating the department's Gender Pay Gap and using data visualisation tools to present this information. This will involve working closely with stakeholders across the department including the Central Analysis Team and various diversity working groups and networks
  • Modelling pay scenarios for the department. This will involve working closely with the pay and reward team (where the role itself is embedded) to define and model various pay scenarios. This requires creative and critical thinking to quickly and accurately communicate the implications of these scenarios
  • Carrying out bespoke analytical projects to improve the HR function in the Department. This could include sentiment analysis and text mining, and advanced statistical techniques
