Main responsibilities:
  • Supporting existing software and assisting with bug fixes/troubleshooting
  • Design, write and test software programs
  • Develop existing systems by analysing and identifying areas for modification
  • Maintain systems by identifying and correcting software defects
  • Investigate new technologies
  • Create technical specifications and test plans
  • Write operational documentation with technical authors
  • Work closely with staff such as project managers, graphic artists, systems analysts, marketing and sales people
  • Consult with clients/colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems
  • Implement new software

Personal qualities

  • We are seeking a .Net developer to join our team at our offices just east of Manchester
  • The ideal candidate will be a talented .Net developer with experience of working with SQL and ASP.NET, preferably within a commercial environment, although this is not essential
  • The candidate will be expected to take responsibility and liaise with clients and external providers so must demonstrate strong communication skills, particularly in writing clear documentation
  • We are seeking someone with good all-round abilities, who can hit the ground running and work under minimal supervision


Desired qualifications

  • Completion on a L3 Software apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 GCSE grades (grade C/4 and above) or equivalent including maths and English


Future prospects

A full time position would be available for the right candidate on completion of the apprenticeship.
