General Role Description:
  • To undertake a Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship within the Housing Planning & Communities department. Provide a professional and administrative customer service support to a range of council services both face-to-face or by telephone
  • To provide guidance and advice on a variety of issues relating to the built environment sections listed above as required to members, the public, other internal departments and outside bodies as appropriate
  • To manage the data received, produce performance reports on the work of the team, and analyse data received
  • To assist the work of the Spatial Planning team as directed

Duties and Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities and duties will include:
  • To work effectively as part of the Council's Spatial Planning Team, delivering corporate objectives through the work of the department
  • To provide a professional and flexible support service advising on Local Plan related planning matters as required to Members, the Public, other internal departments and outside bodies as appropriate
  • To promote a philosophy of putting service user needs first at every opportunity and to put in place management arrangements that work to action this
  • To work with key stakeholders in improving service quality and promoting creative and innovative ways of tackling local problems, ensuring services are developed which meet the needs of our community and are accessible to all users
  • To oppose and where possible eradicate all forms of discrimination, making a positive contribution to managing diversity, both as an employer and service provider
  • To raise performance by contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
  • To promote a positive image of Hounslow and represent the Council as may be required
  • To take active steps to contribute to the achievement of all the Council's priorities
  • To participate in the Council's emergency planning and responses to emergency situations when required to do so
  • To assist in the conduct of elections when required to do so


To provide administrative support in monitoring residential housing supply by accurately recording development schemes granted planning permission through to their construction and completion. This includes timely updates to the Mayor's London Development Database (LDD), and compilation of the borough 15 year housing trajectory and 5 year housing supply.
  • To provide administrative support in Data entry and monitoring of brownfield and self-build registers
  • To give admin support to the Local Plan reviews and collection, analysis and dissemination of a range of information to both inform and monitor the outcomes of the Local Plan review and its supplementary planning document (SPD)
  • •To provide administrative support in the timely and accurate collection and monitoring of indicators for the Authority Monitoring Report (AMR) and preparation of the report
  • To provide administrative support in S106 and CIL monitoring information to inform the Council spending decisions and internal and external queries including audits
  • To provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of office systems within Spatial Planning Team including creating consultation letters and publicity, inputting responses to planning document on databases, opening and scanning of post, and general administrative duties within the team
  • To respond to members of the public and developers on the telephone, and to accurately record information
  • Responsible for monitoring and data analysis of Planning statistics, producing reports of performance for work, and also to analyse the data of approved and completed developments
