    Desired qualifications

    To be eligible for our Manufacturing Scientist Apprenticeship programme, you need:

    • A minimum 5 GCSEs A*-C (or equivalent) including Maths, English Language (not literature) and Science
    • Plus have, or be expected to achieve, a minimum of 96 UCAS points (on the 2017 tariff) including Chemistry or Applied Science
    Future prospects After completing the FdSc, there is a potential opportunity to go on to study for your BSc. And when you complete your apprenticeship? You could be offered a role at GSK if you have demonstrated the skills and behaviours we look for in our locally grown talent. You could even go on to further study post programme whilst in a permanent role at GSK. Things to consider Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies
