Job Details

The primary role of an Electronic Technician (Unified Communications Technician) Level 3 is to establish and maintain communications systems using a range of remote and physical tools to install hardware and software. It’s a very varied job that could require you to work alone or as part of a team, and that could be office-based, field-based, or at remote sites.

This interesting and rewarding role will give you the opportunity to work with the latest technology at the forefront of innovation. You’ll join a team that supports and maintains the internal network in our telephone exchanges, radio stations and data centres.

You’ll be trained in the use of the cutting-edge technology we use to transfer data and voice over the internet. Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you’ll become responsible for several exchanges in your local area.

Training & Support
Throughout the course of your training you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as logical and creative thinking and problem-solving, and you’ll learn how to maintain productive, professional and secure working environments.

You’ll need to be able to use own initiative and have a thorough and organised approach to work. You’ll have the flexibility and social skills needed to communicate with people from all walks of life, and your written communication skills will also be good.

Entry Requirements
To join our Apprentice Electronic Technician (Unified Communications Technician) Level 3 programme you’ll need to achieve five GCSEs at grades 4–9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
